Rehabilitation providers will encounter many patients who are at risk for cerebrovascular accidents (CVAs). Being able to identify these risk factors is an essential part of thorough care. In addition, rehabilitation providers needs to be able to identify the medications that patients are taking to address these risk factors. Along with identifying the medications, comes the understanding of side effects, clinical implications and when to refer the patient back to the physician.
This course will review the risk factors for CVAs and will discuss in-depth the medications that are most commonly prescribed to treat these. This discussion will include side effects and clinical implications.
